Almost 430 participants attended the AfriConstruct Conference, representing 34 countries: 1,320 individual business meetings have been organised and 201 partnership memorandum have been signed!
The AFRICONSTRUCT Investment Conference is a component of the Pro€Invest programme, a joint initiative of the European Commission and Institutions from the ACP States (Africa, the Carribean and the Pacific).
AFRICONSTRUCT is the first stage of a programme to develop and support the Construction and Civil Engineering sector, which is a major challenge for the ACP States.
In this context, AFRICONSTRUCT will mobilise the major actors involved in the field of Construction and Civil Engineeringin West and Central Africa as well as in Europebringing them together at a regional investment conference due to take place in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from 31st January to 2nd February 2007.
Some 250 to 300 high level delegates will take part in the Investment Conference to discuss project proposals and to negotiate cooperation agreements.
